There’s Always One

I have a collection of letters from recent fourth graders, full of advice and well wishes for a new school year. . I’m posting many of them in the classroom to welcome the new fourth graders.

Except this one. I will not hang it in the classroom, but I am keeping it forever.

“Hello, future fourth graders. This class was so annoying and these people are idiots.”

I laugh and laugh.

I mean, when we teach about letting our inner creative speak freely and without filters, I’m pulling out this gold nugget.

Just maybe not on back-to-school night.
