Mommy, You're The Firework.

He was playing with some new (albeit thus far nameless) friends at the play area at the mall.

They leapfrogged over giant toads and balanced on logs. They climbed up when I asked them to slide down. I asked them to go feet first and forward. They went head first and backward.

They are boys, and what is fun should always be made dangerous.

Booming through the speaker system, we hear Katy Perry sing -

Baby, you're a firework!

Come on, let your colors burst!

Make them go "Ah! Ah! Ah!"

You're gonna leave them all in awe, awe, awe!

My son climbed on the top of a tower a sang-shouted the lyrics. Which in itself is charming.

And then he pointed to me from his way-up-high lookout, and he said, "Mommy! That's YOU!"

Salute

And somehow the day was complete.
