Watch Your Tone.
“Mommyyyyyy! Mommy!” A frantic voice, shouting at me in the car.
“What?! What do you need?”
“Tyler is trying to tell you something, but you’re still talking to Grandma.”
“Tuck, I heard him. And I will talk to him when I finish this conversation. You need to know: when you shout my name that way, it makes me think you are hurt or afraid.”
And if you keep directing that tone toward me, you can feel free to be afraid you might get hurt.
