Fireworks In The Script

The local weatherman was the emcee for our community parade this morning.

He announced there would be fireworks tonight at Towne Center. The crowd cheered and looked at each other quizzically.

Fireworks? In fire country? We thought there was a statewide ban.

There is a brief pause.

“I am sorry folks, I was reading from the 2011 script. No fireworks tonight.”

“Booo,” says the crowd.
