Tricia Lott Williford: “Lifestyle Columnist”

a notepad and keyboard of a computer. write down and save.

You guys, I have big news: I am officially a lifestyle columnist.

Starting today, I have launched my first piece into the world of PJMedia, “a multimedia digital presence that represents some of America’s most influential columnists and singular blogger voices that help fulfill the company’s mission to support ‘voices from a free America'” to more than 12.8 million readers and viewers.

Did you hear that?  I am included among America’s most influential blogger voices.  That feels like kind of a big and important club to belong to.  Like I just got invited to sit with the cool kids, or at least the most influential.  Except they didn’t ask me to just sit quietly, but they invited me to write a weekly column.

Names like Nora Ephron and Anna Quindlen come to mind.  Or Dave Barry and Mitch Albom.  Columnists and essayists who changed the world, one word at a time.

The great irony of it all is that this is a political magazine, and they’ve invited the very apolitical me to join their team.  Thankfully I don’t have to pretend to know anything about left and right politics or their influence on the world because I’ve been invited to write about faith, family, and life.  And those, I assure you, are topics I can lean into.

And so, (drumroll…) I present to you my first article as a lifestyle columnist:

Three Words You Should Never Say To a Young Mom
There’s a struggling parent out there who needs to hear this today

  1. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am thrilled for you!

  2. YEAH! Congratulations! This is so great! What an incredible opportunity and blessing! COOL!

  3. What wonderful news! You have another platform to share your sage wisdom to vessels that often feel half-empty. We are so thankful for your words. And may the Well from which you refresh yourself fill you daily. Blessings, Tricia.

  4. Tricia dear, God uses voices we feel are mere peeps, breathless whispers. He uses the bench sitters, the apolitical. Because for many of us, those are the voices who can relate to His people. The showmen and women, the popular, the political, the outspoken all have a place, but the meek, those who mourn, the righteous allow His Spirit to lead them. Praying for wisdom and your continued putting that one foot in front of the other. Be blessed.

  5. Congratulations! Very exciting news.
